There's something about Cyprus that ensures it continues to attract visitors from afar. With its warm Mediterranean climate and beautiful resort beach, tourists continue to fly to Cyprus in large numbers.

The island of Cyprus has experienced political upheaval during its history and it remains a divided island. The northern part of the island is occupied by forces loyal to Turkey, while the south of the island is recognized by most of the rest of the world.

For tourists, this political division has had ramifications. Until recently, almost all visitors chose to visit the southern island. Many things have changed now and it is possible to visit northern Cyprus, it is fair to say that the South retains its popularity.

A brief analysis of the Internet shows that passengers wishing to depart from London airports have the largest range of options available. Lufthansa, Tarom, Thomas Cook Airlines and Austrian Airlines have regular flights from London to Larnaca.

Paphos, an alternative to Larnaca Airport in south Cyprus is served by British Airways, operating budget BMI, VLM and Air Berlin, among others.

On arrival at one airport to Cyprus, you can usually be met by a representative of the company holiday if you booked through a tour operator. For independent travelers, the best is to use a local bus or taxi.

Fortunately, Cyprus is very much geared to the holiday trade. It is a holiday Pleasure Island.
